Summits Of Bothell - Testimonials

“Hey, just wanted to say that the S.O.B. was a great ride. I really enjoyed riding all the silly steep hills around my home turf. I will be back next year for sure. All the volunteers and organizers were super nice and helpful. You guys deserve a big congratulations and pat on the back. I had a blast (especially after the rain stopped). The shirt is great, too. I love the Borat theme and the brownish color.”

“Thanks for maintaining the S.O.B. event’s high standard of hilarity. Don’t rest on past laurels and do keep fine-tuning for more fun every run. You’ve got an admirable and infinitely mine-able tradition underway now. Congratulations!”

“I rode last year’s S.O.B. and loved it. I plan to ride it three times in a row this year (training for the Furnace Creek 508).” (And he did, too!)

“Thanks for putting on the S.O.B. I’ve enjoyed it both years I rode it, although last year was a bit tough as I rode in from Snohomish, then took you up on the guarantee (second time around for free) before returning to Snohomish. Throw in the 18 percent grade on the lane to my house, and it made for a challenging century ride. Mile for mile, that was in my ‘Top 3’ rides. I’m looking forward to riding again this year, but probably only once around this time! Loved the ice cream, too!”

“We did the S.O.B. last year and loved it! Definitely challenging, with some of the steepest climbs I’ve done in an organized ride (and I’ve done my share!).”

“What a great ride! I enjoyed the route so much I took a friend on it last weekend (actually, I’m already training for next year’s S.O.B.). I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever biked up so many steep hills in only 35 miles, but the downhills made it worth the grind up. It was obvious that hard work went into planning and preparing the ride. It was very well organized.”

“Thanks for doing this. I love the ride. I love that it’s Bothell. Please keep it alive!” (Rest assured, we plan to, as long as we’re alive. And after that – well, that’s what our kids are for!)

“I participated in the S.O.B. on Sunday and found the experience quite exhilarating for a novice rider. Great job to the S.O.B. staff! I look forward to next year’s S.O.B.!”(So it’s not true that only Lance Armstrong types can conquer the S.O.B.!)

“What a fabulous ride! I just wanted to send a big thanks to you and your team for putting on a fun (but definitely not easy) event. The water stations were well-manned with friendly help. Your team went above and beyond to assist in any way they could – including walking out to meet up with me and fill my water bottle, so I didn’t have to dismount my bike!”

“The course was great – definitely challenging, but well planned out to give plenty of rest between ascents. I wanted to compliment your team on clearly marking the course. I really appreciated the signs along the route that warned me to be aware of upcoming traffic signals and to monitor my speed on sharp descents. These signs helped me know what to expect in an unfamiliar area. Also, the signs indicating the summit of the major hills were great motivators!”

“Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for putting on the Summits Of Bothell ride. My buddy and I had a good time. We really like the numerous pavement markings, and the little yellow signs at key points. We knew whenever we saw a ‘Control your speed’ sign, it meant another chance to get over 40 mph. (Not that we condone this kind of behavior, but the highest speed we’ve heard of a rider achieving on the S.O.B. is 55 mph – and we’re not going to say where!) The aid stands were appreciated, too. We were having such a good time, we were almost sorry when we got to the end!”
